Story
In May this year, I will be trekking Larapinta in Alice Springs to raise awareness and funds for the Reach Foundation. If you know me you will know that I am the BIGGEST advocate for the work that Reach does; I am a little bias because I do work there, but I genuinely believe that the impact Reach has on young people is immeasurable.
As one of the Facilitators out in schools and in the community, I am constantly asking young people to step outside of their comfort zone and take risks; it wouldn't be fair for me to ask young people to do this without doing it myself, so I decided to take on this challenge.
2020 was a HUGE year for me, it was full of growth, challenges, and lots of learnings. It was also the year that I embarked on my fitness and health journey, and it is a journey that I have loved every minute of. Larapinta is way more than just a trek to me, it is the culmination of all the hard work that I have put in over the year, and I am so excited that I get to reach a fitness goal while also raising money for an organisation that I love.
All the money raised goes straight towards running workshops for young people all across Australia. Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated <3
The Reach Foundation
Reach is an independent, for-purpose organisation, established in 1994 by Jim Stynes OAM and Australian film director, Paul Currie.
Reach encourages young people, no matter what their circumstances, to believe they can achieve.
Each year, 50,000 young people experience Reach. Independent research has found Reach’s youth-led workshops can improve the wellbeing of young people by significantly enhancing their feelings of meaning and engagement. www.reach.org.au
